When templates are updated, are those updates applied to automated emails?

It was my understanding that any updates made to templates would be automatically applied to automated emails that are activated. I made a change to a template a couple of hours ago, and just tested an automated email, and my template change hasn't been applied. Do I have to do something with the workflow to ensure that the template changes are reflected on automated emails?

Are you making an update to the template or to the campaign?  I am happy to take a peek if you can provide me with the sub-account name, automated workflow name and the template and campaign name.  

I'll be on the lookout for your reply!

Thanks for your help, Damian, and the clarification here. For the benefit of everyone else: the answer to my original question is "No". When you make a change to a template and you want that change applied to any automated emails using that template, you'll need to republish the emails in the automation workflows in order to grab the latest version of the template.
