Why can't I search by the phone number field any more?

Hey there, thanks for posting!

We've changed how that quick search works in the audience section, so by default the search will only look for people by first name, last name, and email address. We found that most of our users are only searching by those fields, and if we limit the search to those three fields, the search is much faster and increases speeds across all accounts. 

We can frequently achieve the same results using segments as well, which might be a better tool. Would you mind letting me know a little bit about what you're trying to do when you search by phone number? If we can't find a better way to achieve what you're trying to do, it's no problem to switch you back to the old search, although it might seem a little slower.
