Will an automation workflow continue to send emails if the contact's group and/or contact field is changed to one outside of the initial trigger of the automation?

For more context:
We're setting up onboarding emails for our self-signup SAAS app. Once a contact signs up for a free trial we have a series of 4 emails going out over the span of 15 days. If the contact upgrades and their group and contact field is changed using the API before all the emails are sent, will they continue to receive these emails?

Hi there -- Great question! A change to a contact record that would remove the contact from the specified groups or segments associated with a workflow would remove them from that workflow. So, in this case, any contact in your automated onboarding series that upgrades and is removed from the group in that workflow will not continue receiving the onboarding series emails.
