I have segments created from our master list/group by state and by sales territory. When I update the master list group are the segments created from that group automatically updated as well?  If not, how do I update the segments? Or, do I have to recreate them?

Hi Keri!

Joshua from Emma support here, reaching out about your question about segments! While we go over this topic, here is a great link to our resource center about segments, that you can use as a good reference in the future as well: Using the latest segment builder!

Segments are dynamic and do update in real time as anyone who is in your audience meets the criteria set by the segment.  One thing to note here is that the numbers that show in the Segment page do not update in real time. They are only updated when you open that segment, as indicated by the "last run" date.

Segments are updated by the following actions:
  • On sending to that segment
  • When you open the segment
  • You can force a hard refresh by typing Shift+Command+R (on a Mac) or Control+F5 (on a PC)
  • when segment criteria is edited and save
You will not need to recreate to have those segments update!
