With Salesforce, does a change to the "error" field update the status in Emma?

We are cleaning up bounced emails. When we manually update a person's email in Salesforce, Emma picks up the change. When we go into Emma and change the person from Error to Active, Salesforce picks up that change.

But when I change the Error? field in Salesforce, Emma doesn't seem to get it. Is this working as designed, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Joe -- Status changes have to be made within your Emma account rather than in your Salesforce account. The setup process should have actually made those status fields in your Salesforce account read-only.
As a matter of fact, our Emma for Salesforce install guide outlines that those fields should be made read-only within Salesforce to ensure the data sync is maintained. For some guidance on doing that, please check out parts six and seven in our install guide.

(If you happen to be using the Professional version of Salesforce, then you'd find that information within parts three and four in this install guide version.
